Version 1.3
Lifexam — Terms & Conditions
Free, Plus, and capacity changes
Free gives you five Document slots and one default Profile. During your first registration year, each qualified referral can add five temporary Document slots, up to twenty total. Qualification requires the invited account’s verified email and an ingested Document while both accounts are unbanned. The referrer receives slots only during their own first year. These temporary slots end at your first UTC registration anniversary, even if earned later. Ordinary Free then returns to five slots. If Plus ends before that anniversary, eligible referral slots remain available for the rest of the first year.
Plus gives 100 Document slots, ten Profiles, related observations, inbound email, translated health sharing, and MCP access. You can purchase an annual subscription on the web or receive a time-limited administrative gift. Both provide the same Plus plan. A gift creates no subscription charge and does not renew automatically. Separate processing and daily limits still apply. An administrative capacity setting replaces the calculated Document or Profile limit until it is cleared; a Profile limit above one enables Profiles independently of Plus, but no other Plus feature.
The instance’s price and currency appear before Checkout. EU prices include tax; applicable US tax is added at Checkout. Paid access starts after confirmed payment, at full price; remaining referral slots give no credit or extension. Plus renews annually until you cancel renewal in the billing portal. Cancellation keeps access through the paid-through date. There is no trial. Any support-managed refund, including a partial refund, ends that paid source and renewal immediately. A pending payment dispute preserves access; a lost dispute ends that paid source. Another valid Plus gift can preserve Plus. Account deletion ends billing immediately, without an automatic prorated refund. Mandatory consumer rights are unaffected.
When Plus ends, your actual limits depend on your registration age, referral awards, and administrative capacity settings. Retained Documents remain viewable, downloadable, and deletable. You cannot add a Document while usage is at or above the effective limit; deleting one can free a slot. Other Plus features end without another valid Plus source. We send predictable Plus-ending warnings fourteen, seven, and one day in advance. They include any loss of Profiles and the cleanup date. Free accounts with at least five Documents receive these reminders before an actual first-year reduction to five. Paid auto-renewal reminders announce the next charge instead. Unexpected access loss requiring Profile cleanup receives an immediate access-change warning.
If Profiles access ends and extra Profiles remain, consolidation follows the announced delay (initially five calendar days) only after the required cleanup warning is delivered or confirmed delivered. Documents and linked medical records move into the default Profile. Source Profiles, their Concerns, and their Concern notes are permanently deleted; the default Profile’s Concerns stay. This can mix different people’s medical histories. Restored Profiles access stops further consolidation but cannot restore completed moves, deleted Profiles, former assignments, or deleted Concerns and notes. A reduced Profile limit with continuing Profiles access retains existing Profiles and blocks creation at capacity.
EU and US instances have separate accounts and subscriptions, with no automatic portability. Contact support@lifexam.com about billing or refunds.

1. Who we are
Lifexam is a service operated by Lifexam Ltd, a private company limited by shares registered in Ireland (company number 822610, registered office Venture Hub, 136 Capel Street, Dublin, D01 T2C9, IE).
In these Terms, "Lifexam", "we", "us" and "our" mean that company. "You" means the person who holds a Lifexam account.
You can reach us at support@lifexam.com. For privacy and data-protection matters, see our Privacy Policy.
Definitions used in these Terms:
- Service / Services — the Lifexam application and everything it offers, however you access it (web today; mobile apps when released).
- Document — a file you upload (for example, a lab report or other medical document).
- Extracted Data — the structured information our systems read from a Document, such as test names, values, units, reference ranges, dates and practitioner references.
- Vault — your personal store of Documents and Extracted Data.
- Content — anything else you submit, including reviews of healthcare facilities or professionals, and feedback.
2. What Lifexam is — and what it is not
Lifexam stores the medical documents you upload and produces a structured, searchable representation of them, so you can keep your records in one place, see your results over time, and share them with people you choose.
Lifexam provides personal health-record storage and organisation directly to individuals. You choose which records to upload and whether to share them. We do not provide this record service on behalf of healthcare providers, health plans or other organisations.
Lifexam is a document storage and data-extraction tool. It is not a medical device, not a diagnostic tool, and not a provider of medical advice. Lifexam does not diagnose, advise, or recommend treatment. The laboratories and clinicians who produced and validated your original results are the sole source of medical truth. See sections 7 and 11.
These Terms cover the Services however you access them. When we release native mobile apps, additional app-store rules will apply to those versions; the contract between you and us stays the same.
3. Eligibility and age
You must be 18 or older to hold a Lifexam account. You confirm that you are 18 or over when you sign up, and we make this requirement clear at that point. If you are under 18, you may not create an account.
Lifexam supports managed profiles: a single adult account holder can keep separate profiles for other people whose health records they are responsible for — for example, an adult relative they care for, or their own child. The person a profile is for does not log in; the account holder manages everything. Managed profiles are governed by section 6a.
We rely on your confirmation of age. We do not ask for identity documents to prove it, or to prove your authority over a managed profile — for a privacy-first health vault, collecting such documents would create more sensitive data than it protects.
4. Your account and security
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your access to it secure. Your account is identified by your email address; you may sign in using the methods we make available, which may include signing in through a third-party provider. Tell us promptly at security@lifexam.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.
The version of these Terms published in the Service is the version that binds you.
5. Acceptable use
When you use Lifexam, you agree not to:
- upload documents belonging to another person unless you are lawfully authorised to do so;
- upload unlawful content, or content you have no right to upload;
- attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, copy, or interfere with the Service or the systems behind it;
- misuse the Service in any way that breaks the law or these Terms.
6. Your documents and data — the deal
Your Documents and Extracted Data are yours. We store them so that you can use them. In plain terms:
- we store your original Documents and the Extracted Data we produce from them, for your benefit;
- we never sell your data, and never share it for advertising;
- you can retrieve any Document, delete any Document, or delete your entire Vault, at any time;
- when you delete something, we remove it from Lifexam’s systems — including from our backups within a defined period.
The legal basis for storing and processing your health data is your explicit consent, which we ask for before your first upload. You can withdraw it at any time. The full detail — what we store, why, for how long, and your rights — is in the Privacy Policy, and the practical mechanics of storage and deletion are in the Storage Policy.
Research and AI-model training are not included in this agreement. Your consent to use Lifexam does not allow us to use your data to train models or for research. If we ever offer that, we will ask you separately and explicitly, and you would be free to decline.
We share eligible records with connected apps only with your separate, explicit consent. Connecting an app or accepting these Terms does not give that consent. This consent applies to all your valid connected apps, including apps already connected. You can use Lifexam without enabling sharing.
You can withdraw this consent at any time to block future access for every connected app, without removing its connection. An already authorized request may finish. Enabling sharing again requires fresh, explicit consent. Only valid connections can resume access; revoked or expired apps remain blocked. You can also revoke one app independently.
Turning sharing off, revoking an app, or deleting a Document or your Lifexam account does not retrieve or erase data already received by an external app provider. Its retention, deletion, conversation history and model-improvement rules depend on its own terms and your settings. Use that provider’s controls or contact it to exercise rights over its copies.
Lifexam’s commitments about research and model training apply to its own processing. Once you choose to share with an external app provider, that provider’s use of the received data, including possible model improvement, is governed by its terms and your account settings.
6a. Managed profiles (records you keep for someone else)
Lifexam lets you keep separate profiles for other people you are responsible for — for example, an adult you care for, or your child. Profiles are a way to keep different people's records separate within your account. The person a profile is for does not log in. You, the account holder, manage everything in it, and you are responsible for everything you put in it — just as you are for your own profile.
When you create a managed profile, you confirm that:
- you are legally authorised to manage that person's health records — for an adult, that you have their authority or are otherwise lawfully entitled to act for them; for a child, that you hold parental responsibility or legal guardianship;
- the information you upload genuinely relates to that person and you have the right to upload it;
- you will exercise that person's rights (and your responsibilities) in their interest.
We rely on this confirmation. We do not ask for documents proving authority, and we cannot verify whose records you upload — so you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to manage each profile and to upload each Document. You agree to indemnify Lifexam against claims arising from a profile you were not authorised to create or manage, or data you were not entitled to upload (see section 11).
If someone disputes your authority. If a person who holds authority over an individual (for example, the other parent of a child, or the individual themselves) tells us they object to a profile being managed, we will review it and may suspend, restrict, or remove that profile or its content. We don't check uploads in advance, but we act when authority is contested. Contact privacy@lifexam.com.
Exercising the rights of a managed person. The data-protection rights over a managed profile's data (access, correction, deletion, and so on) are exercised through you, as the manager. A managed person — or anyone who becomes entitled to act for themselves — can also contact privacy@lifexam.com directly about their data.
When a managed person can have their own account. We do not yet support moving a profile into its own separate account (for example, when a child reaches adulthood). We plan to add profile migration in future. Until then, if a managed person wants their own account or wants to take over their records, contact privacy@lifexam.com and we will help.
A note on children. The rules on the age at which a person can consent to health-data processing differ between countries. Because a managed child does not log in and you — an adult with parental responsibility — are the person managing and consenting on their behalf, we rely on your authority rather than the child's own consent. This is the basis on which we make managed profiles for children available; the safeguards above (your confirmation, your responsibility, and the dispute route) are how we keep that basis sound.
For sharing with connected apps, human Profiles need a valid birth date showing age 16 or older. We block sharing if the birth date is missing, invalid or in the future. This is a Lifexam sharing rule; age 16 does not establish authority to consent under every country’s law. Parental authority to manage a child’s records in Lifexam does not permit external sharing of an under-16 Profile.
You must provide accurate information for every Profile and keep it up to date. For human Profiles, this includes the correct date of birth. We rely on the birth date you provide when applying the sharing age restriction.
You must have lawful authority to disclose every person’s information in eligible records. Do not enable sharing for records that contain information about an under-16 child, including family, pregnancy or genetic information. The age check does not scan or remove information inside records.
7. How document processing works, and your responsibility to verify
When you upload a Document, Lifexam uses automated systems — including optical character recognition (OCR) and machine-learning models — to read it and extract structured information such as test names, values, units, reference ranges, dates and practitioner references. This process is automated.
We do not routinely access the content of your Documents. A person only opens the actual content of a Document in limited situations, described in the Privacy Policy and Storage Policy: when you ask us to (for example, to investigate why a Document did not process correctly), or in rare, logged quality checks. Such access is restricted, recorded, and never used to train models.
Accuracy and known limitations. Automated extraction is useful but not infallible. Errors are more likely when a Document contains handwriting, non-standard layouts, unusual fonts or low print quality, skewed or low-resolution scans, values in unusual formats, or mixed languages and institution-specific abbreviations. When errors occur, they most often affect individual values, units, decimal positions, or dates. Lifexam does not detect all such errors automatically.
The Extracted Data shown in your Vault is a convenience representation of your Document. It is not a substitute for the original. Your original Document, as you uploaded it, is always stored in your Vault and is the authoritative record. Where the Extracted Data and the original Document differ, the original Document is correct.
You are responsible for checking Extracted Data against your original Documents before relying on it for any purpose, including before sharing it with a healthcare professional. We provide a correction tool so you can flag and fix extraction errors — please use it. Corrections improve your own record and, with your separate permission, help us improve the Service. (Corrections are used to improve service quality. They are not used to train models under this agreement.)
Optionally helping us fix extraction errors. When you correct a value, you can choose to let us use that correction to investigate and improve our extraction. This is optional, off by default, and you can turn it on or off at any time. If you turn it on, you allow us to access the values you have edited, the original Document they came from, and the related processing data, only to investigate and correct how our extraction works. It grants no other use of your data. You can withdraw it whenever you like; withdrawal applies going forward.
8. Feedback
You may send us feedback, suggestions, survey responses, or ideas about Lifexam itself. By doing so, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce and act on that feedback for any purpose, including improving the Service, with no obligation to you and no compensation.
This licence is over your ideas and feedback, not over your health data. If a survey response happens to contain personal data, that data is still governed by the Privacy Policy and your rights under it are unaffected.
9. Reviews and ratings of facilities and professionals
Lifexam may let you write reviews and ratings of healthcare facilities and professionals. These are governed by our Content Guidelines, which form part of these Terms. In summary:
- your reviews are your own opinions, reflecting your personal experience — not Lifexam's views;
- you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, host, display, reproduce, distribute and moderate your review, including in our own promotional materials, for as long as you have not withdrawn it;
- you can edit or delete your own reviews at any time. Withdrawal takes effect going forward: from the point we process it, we will stop displaying the review on our services and will not make new uses of it. Withdrawal does not require us to recall, alter, or remove materials already produced or distributed while the review was live (for example, a printed leaflet or a campaign already published);
- this licence covers your review as opinion content. If a review mistakenly contains your own health information, that is handled under the accidental-health-data rule in the Content Guidelines and is not affected by this licence;
- we may moderate, label, or remove Content that breaches the Content Guidelines, using both automated tools (including AI) and human review;
- any user can flag Content for review.
10. Intellectual property
Lifexam owns the Service — the software, design, and trademarks. We grant you a limited, personal right to use it under these Terms.
You keep ownership of your Documents and your Content. You grant us only the limited licences described in sections 8 and 9, and the permissions needed to store and process your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Lifexam is not a medical device, a diagnostic tool, or a provider of personalised medical advice. Extracted Data, and anything the Service displays from it, is provided for organisation and reference only. It is not a clinical interpretation of your results. Any clinical interpretation is the responsibility of a qualified healthcare professional. Nothing in these Terms, in the Service, or in any Extracted Data is a recommendation, diagnosis, or opinion about your health.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lifexam is not liable for:
- errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in Extracted Data;
- any decision made, or not made, in reliance on Extracted Data;
- any harm arising from a failure to verify Extracted Data against the original Document;
- indirect or consequential loss.
None of this affects rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law, including rights that cannot be excluded or limited by contract. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Emergencies
Lifexam is not for medical emergencies. If you have a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately (in the EU, call 112) or go to an emergency department. Do not rely on Lifexam in an urgent situation.
13. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Lifexam and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms or use the Service unlawfully.
When your account closes — whether you close it or we do — your Vault is deleted, including from backups within the period described in the Storage Policy.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we will show you an in-app notice directing you to the updated Terms before the change takes effect for you. Acknowledging the notice records that you have seen the update; it does not record acceptance of the updated Terms. The version published in the Service is always the version that binds you.
15. Governing law and your local rights
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer in another EU/EEA country, this does not take away the mandatory protections of your home country. You keep the consumer rights and the right to bring proceedings that the law of your country of residence guarantees, and nothing in these Terms overrides them.
16. Contact and complaints
- Support: support@lifexam.com
- Privacy: see the Privacy Policy
- You also have the right to complain to a data-protection supervisory authority. Our lead authority is the Irish Data Protection Commission; you may also contact the authority in your own country.
End of Terms & Conditions.
